On February 24, 2021, President Biden revoked the immigrant visa ban that President Trump had enacted on April 22, 2020, Presidential Proclamation 10014. The April 22 proclamation had barred the entry of aliens who were outside the United States, did not yet have a valid visa, and did not have a valid travel document at the time of the proclamation. The ban did not apply to lawful permanent residents of the U.S., health care professionals, investors, spouses of U.S. citizens, children of U.S. citizens under 21, and certain special categories.
Proclamation 10052, enacted on June 22, 2020, suspended the entry to the U.S. of nonimmigrant visa applicants in the H-1B, H-2B, L-1, J-1 applicants and their spouses or children, remains in effect through March 31, 2021. It is not yet clear what will happen after March 31 st.
